Trusting Jesus, Building Relationships, Carrying the Message

Affiliations

In order to most effictively carry out Jesus' Great Commission to "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you," Tioga First Baptist cooperates with other churches through:

CenLa Baptist Association

A group of 60 Southern Baptist churches and church missions located  in Rapides and Avoyelles Parishes, Louisiana. The purposes of the Association are to:

  1. Promote Christian fellowship and cooperation among the churches affiliated with the Association;
  2. Uphold the doctrines and principals of the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000 and encourage the churches to be loyal to practice these doctrines and principals;
  3. Promote the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, the enlisting and training of all Christians for service;
  4. Promote missions, benevolence, stewardship, Christian education, and the winning of all persons to Christ on the Earth;
  5. Cooperate with the Louisiana Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.

The Louisiana Baptist Convention

The LBC is a statewide association of nearly 1,800 Baptist churches connected through a common mission. The purpose of this Convention is to provide means through which Louisiana Baptist churches and members can cooperate in bringing persons to God throughout the world.

The Southern Baptist Convention

Since its organization in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to over 16 million members who worship in more than 42,000 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor about 5,000 home missionaries serving the United States, Canada, Guam and the Caribbean, as well as sponsoring more than 5,000 foreign missionaries in 153 nations of the world.

The term "Southern Baptist Convention" refers to both the denomination and its annual meeting. Working through 1,200 local associations and 41 state conventions and fellowships, Southern Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.

 The Convention will assist churches and associations in the Christ-appointed tasks: to worship God, to proclaim the Gospel, to teach, to nurture Christians, to establish and strengthen churches, and to minister in Christ's name.
